Toyota and GM recall nearly 1.3 million vehicles over airbag issues

Toyota is recalling certain RAV4, Yaris, Highlander, Tacoma, Corolla, and Matrix models in the U.S. market, part of a larger global recall campaign, for an issue that could prevent the airbag from deploying in the event of an accident. General Motors is recalling Pontiac Vibe vehicles for the same problem; the Vibe is mechanically similar to the Matrix because the two shared a platform and were built at the same plant.

Volvo confirms big production increase for V60 Plug-in Hybrid

Volvo has been building around 150 V60 Plug-ins a week at its facility in Torslanda – alongside the regular V60, V70, S80 and XC90 – but that is now set to be upped to 282 cars a week for the rest of 2013, with plans to build at least 10,000 in 2014. Suzuki announces trio of concepts for Tokyo

Suzuki has announced it will unveil three new concepts at next month's Tokyo motor show. The Crosshiker compact three-door crossover is described as an alternative to the 2011 Regina/G70 concept. Along with a panoramic roof, Suzuki promises it will adopt a more exciting design tailored specifically for adults while keeping it playful.
